I really need to work on some fancy schmancy titles for my posts. Although sometimes I like it plain and simple!

We are right in the middle of birthday season. Next up is my brother TODAY, then my father on Friday. We did a bit of celebrating at the office yesterday. Nothing tops celebrating birthdays then a nice big piece of red velvet cake.

Welcome back to reality! On the ship there was nothing but healthy stuff. Jillian even paid something like $9,000 to have all the soda removed from the ship! Coming back is a bit tricky. Makes you have to REALLY think about what your about to shove in your face! It’ ok though… this cake was TOTALLY worth it!

Jillian Part 2

I’ve been going back and forth on how to compartmentalize this adventure. I’m fairly new to this whole blog thing. I want to make sure I get all info out there, but I don’t want to have a 50,000 word post. So with that said, this is my best shot!

Welcome to Miami! It was hot and humid. But I was really excited to meet my cabin mate for the next  days. We found each other on the message boards back in May. We talked a lot on Facebook and through e-mails… but I was so exited to meet her in person!

Met Jess from Seattle Washington!  We hung out for a while, we were able to catch up and talk which was awesome. We were staying South Beach, at this crazy little eco-friendly hotel. It was the cutest place!

We then ventured out and found some dinner!! There were sooo many places to eat! We ended up at Sea Cafe! I had a salad. BORING. If I knew I was going to be eating salad for the next  days of my life I would have gotten something else. Haha. Just kidding. It was actually quite delightful! Lettuce with pears, tomatoes and goat cheese! Yummy!

After dinner went found Dash. The Kardashians store in Miami. It was exactly what I thought it was going to be… over priced skinny clothes! $485 for a skimpy dress.. I think I’ll pass!

We then headed downtown to meet up with other crusiers. It was so fun to finally meet so many of them. We hung out for a while. No photos though 😦 Jess and I then walked around the port for while. Stocked up on chocolate.. we knew there would be done except in the form of a protein shake on the ship!

and had to get my fortune! Remind you of a movie at all?!?!? I was thinking, maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow and be Jillian Michaels! LOL. Remember in BIG… he wanted to be a grown up.. ?!?!!?

Headed back to the hotel and passed out!

Day 1 on the Ship!

Woke up bright and early Thursday morning. This was the day I had waiting for since May. It was finally here. Went for a 2.5 mile run along South Beach. I just had too! It was so beautiful!

Ahhh it was then Jillian time! We headed to the ship. What an amazing sight!

I often thought… how is this entire ship devoted to Jillian?!?!? She as soo many fans it was insane! It was great to see so many people excited to eat healthy and workout! We waited in a bunch a lines. It was crazy. We weren’t sure if we were going to get to meet Jillian or what?!?! But finally we realized we were in line to take a one-on-one photo with Jillian herself. I was a little nervous.. not gonna lie! I got closer and closer and boom.. Jillian was right there holding my shoulder and smiling. I told her my name, she said “Hi Leah”. And that was that! It’s crazy how you can picture something for so long and then within a matter of seconds it’s over! When the photos were ready, I had to look back and see what exactly happened! I have the biggest cheesiest smile ever. But it’s all good!

Deck Wars. The ship was divided into 4 color groups! We were on the green team! Unfortunately we lost, but it was till a lot of fun!

Jillian came out and introduced all the trainers, and her entire entourage to us! It was pretty fantastic!

After the ‘opening act’ we bummed into the Alvarez family. They were on Losing it with Jillian. We chatted for a bit. They were such wonderful people, open to answering all my crazy questions.. like.. What was Jillian REALLY like at your house? LOL. All 4 of them have come such a long way. I completely fell in love with little David! I saw him randomly everyday for the rest of the trip. When he saw me.. he would run up and give me a big hug! Aww I miss him!

Buh bye Miami..

Hello wonderful blue sea!

The rest of the day was getting to know people and our surroundings. It was fun exploring the ship and finding different things here and there. Like the gym, pools, waterside and the BAR! Which was depleted from everything except hard liquor and light beers.. go Jillian!

Day 2

Rise and shine! We went to the private island of Great Stirrup Cay. It was beautiful! My new friend Sarah and I decided this was a perfect time to cross something off the bucket list… parasailing!

It was so pretty. Could have stay right there.. in that same spot.. for the rest of the trip.. and would have been in heaven 🙂

It rained Friday evening. Due to the rain my workout with Jenkins get cancelled. But we were left with this awesome rainbow in the middle of the ocean:)

There were a bunch of different restaurants to try on the boat in addition to the buffet. Jillian and her team changed EVERY SINGLE  restaurant menu. Most of the dishes were pulled right from her new cookout. The food was good. Not amazing, but good. I think cooking in such quality kind of messed things up. Healthy food needs to be cooked then eaten with no sitting around time.

I was surprised to see a bread basket.. and then upon more detailed inspection.. we came to the conclusion there was NO BUTTER.

Went went to Jillian’s Talk. AMAZING. I will go into further detail in another post!

and yes.. that is a tequila shot in Jillian’s hand!

I realize I’m not really giving up much educational value in this post. I promise there is more to come! Wish the 9-5 didn’t get in the way! Days 3 and 4.. coming soon!

PS – I’m STILL swaying! LOL.

Hi Guys. I’m back from my amazing trip down south to ‘hang’ out with Jillian Michaels for a few days aboard the Norwegian Star. I’m sitting at my desk and I’m still swaying.. I’ve got some strange looks this morning, I think people thought I hit the bottle a little earlier today. It is definitely the drunken swaying feeling! Anyway, my trip was amazing. I met some awesome people who I hope to keep in touch with, worked out with Jillian and Jeanette Jenkins, rubbed elbows with Steve Lee and Marco Borges, chatted with the Alvarez family from Losing It with Jillian, and took in every word Jillian spoke! She is an amazing person from the inside out and it’s not 100% about fitness. She has the personality to just sit on the couch and talk the night away. She is open and honest about her life and where she has come from. She gives that underlying feeling that you can go out and conquer the world. The one thing I learned the most was, Jillian doesn’t change you! People kept saying, “Thank You, Thank You for changing my life”. And she kept repeating, it wasn’t me doing all the work, it was you! Yes it is very easy to put someone like her on a pedestal and honor and worship her. Which some do and I did at times during this trip too!. But then I realized Jillian is just a human, just like you and me. Yes, she has knowledge which many don’t have quite yet, and yes she is america’s toughest trainer,  and yes people look up to her. But at the end of the day, she is just human. She hangs out with family and friends, she has to go to work, she doesn’t know ALL the answers (but will point you in the right direction), she brushes her teeth, she does tequila shots.. and most importantly she is one of the most down to earth people I know!

The past few days have been a real eye opener for me. They have taught me many things I never knew, some of which I’m glad to have learned and others which I would have been fine without learning 🙂 There is so much to tell so slowing I’ll be posting a little each day. Well.. at least that is the plan. As for now, I need to figure out how to make the floor stop  MOVING!!

LOVE this lady!

(Seriously the swaying HAS GOT TO STOP! I’ll be back soon!)

Hi Guys! I’m in the middle of the ocean where internet is .75 cents a minute. Thank God it isn’t like this all the time. I would be BROKE.

Anyway..  Back to Jillian. Jillian is amazing. She is everything I imagined and more. She makes everyone seems so important. She is kind, knows what she is talking about and walks around this ship as if she were one of ‘us’. I have bummed into her a few times.. a few hours ago she called me ‘pumpkin’. I still have lots more to learn… and much more to tell and share.

For now I”m off to Jeanette Jenkins kickboxing..

The adventure starts in 6 hours. Oh my. I thought I was good to go on this little Jillian Michaels adventure until I entered knockout tonight and we did boot camp instead. Oh my. I really hope I can keep up with these people. Not sure I’m ready for Jillian yelling during the workouts. Only time will tell. And tell I will be sure to do!

We needed so much for the next 6 days… Halloween costumes, 80’s workout gear, a green wardrobe.. who knew?

What do we think?

Yup.. that is my attempt. This outfit also contains some rockin hot pink tennis shoes. Haha!

All my outfits are packed, Remi is taken care of, work is done till Tuesday, homework is complete (kind of).. this could only mean one thing..

I will post as often as I can!  Be prepared for some major action once I return :0) See ya!

So. About a month ago, a lovely young lad thought we would be the perfect office to host one of his very put together snack boxes!

(Side-note: There are only 5 full-timers and 4 part-timers. Yeah… very small office!)

Now.. you see.. this box is conveniently placed on top of the microwave. Probably not the best place, although no one has complained of melt chocolate yet, but furthermore, when I’m popping my ‘healthy’ lunch into the white electronic box, I’m tempted by all the wonderful looking packaging of these most luxurious snacks. (Everything seems so much more luxurious when it is out my reach.. or shouldn’t be had!)

So I’ve decided to fight back. I armed the other side of the kitchen with my new loves! The most perfect line up of the best fruit out there! (Well.. the best fruit Stop & Shop had to offer at the time!)

And plenty of this to curb the 3 o’clock dreaded hunger time!

SO luxurious snack box.. BRING. IT. ON. Because my most amazing fruit and H2O will win this one!

The packing for my BIG fitness adventure continues. Who knew I would need a Halloween costume, 80’s outfit, green wardrobe, plus the normal stuff! There is a lot of stuff to fit in one suitcase! Hope they over look the 50 pound rule … LOL. Photos coming soon :0)

What a gorgeous weekend!

Headed to Springfield MA to hang with the bride-to-be! Purchased.. or shall I say ordered the bridesmaid dress! Oh my. 6 Months. 6 Months people till I cram my body into a beautiful Heather picked out! No photos yet! Dresses are top-secret stuff 🙂 However.. dessert  at Max’s Tavern isn’t!

The best Mexican coffee I have ever tasted :0) As well as amazing pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate cake! Split by 3 people! Although…  Not Jillian Approved.. LOL.

I hope you are all having a great day! I have been a busy shopping bee all weekend. Lots to finish and pack before Wednesday! Let’s just say there has been a lot of tie-dye and thread being used in this household within the last 24 hours!

Back to this…

this… (minus the stained fingers!)

and this…

Better keep this creative brain working!!

Have an amazing Sunday night :0)

This has been floating around the blog world for a few days now…. and I LOVE IT! I just had to share!

If you love it as much as I do… click here for a printable version 🙂

Crazy. Crazy. Crazy lunch today! We  ordered lunch from this normally great deli about 20 minutes away. I ended up ordering for the whole office. Sounds awesome right? .. well no..  They completely messed up the order.

and a non-pictured veggie burger! Interesting lunch… not the greatest. Don’t you hate when orders get messed up? I sure do!

On to better things.

When did the leaves turn on me? I always seem oblivious to the leaves changing, and every year I tell myself to be on the look out and every year I nearly miss it!

I still have a week or two to do some serious leaf peeping!

Enjoy your night folks..

…it’s time to switch out the summer with the winter.. hope I still have some clothes to wear 🙂

It’s all about how much caffeine I can get into my blood stream and how quickly this can be done! I know…. it probably isn’t the healthiest way to life.. but crazy times call for crazy measures!

Normally I’m a Starbucks girl!

Sometimes I’m a DD girl!

When in RI I’m a Ma’s Girl!

and I’m always up for an espresso!

When the mood calls.. an espresso martini works too!

However. I’m longing for a big o’cup of coffee from this baby!

I was addicted to this stuff ALL weekend long! And I’m missing it BIG TIME! It’s sooo good and strong. Instant caffeine jolt!

(PS- Check out the counter top… it’s made from recycled money.. pretty cool huh??)

I’m doing my research… and will be making a purchase very soon:)

As for now.. the office coffee well have to do 😦

What kind of coffee do you prefer?

Holy Moley! (Is that even a word?!?!)

We started driving this morning at 6am. We landed at our destination at 9am.

Remi wanted out the whole time. That was not a fun ride 😦

I’m now sitting at my desk. I haven’t been at my desk since last Tuesday. Imagine that. A whole week away! I kind of forgot what to do. Well I didn’t really forget, but I still have images of beaches, corn mazes and Ocean Breeze coffee and muffins on the brain!

Time to get to work.

BUT.. before that happens I started another list!

  1. Passport
  2. Sunscreen
  3. Sunglasses
  4. Bathing Suits (fancy and fitness)
  5. Evening Gown.. eek. Where is this going to come from?!?
  6. 80s Outfit
  7. Halloween Costume.. Haven’t a clue yet?
  8. Camera.. small digital, big digital and waterproof
  9. Shorts, tanks, sundresses, etc.
  10. Workout Clothes.. X’s 5
  11. Workout shoes.. at least 2 pairs
  12. Shampoo, Conditioner, Makeup, etc.
  13. Heart Rate monitor
  14. Hat
  15. Beach bag/Backpack
  16. A light jacket or sweater in case it’s breezy
  17. A big smile!

I’m gonna need this list and better start packing now. Because in 8 days. Yes only 8 days, I will be meeting Jillian Michaels aboard the Norwegian Star Cruise Ship on our way to the Bahamas and Great Stirrup Cay! She is hosting the Ultimate Wellness Cruise. I found the link a few months ago. Decided I just had to go! Could not find anyone to go with for the life of me! I turned to the message boards and found a girl in a similar position as I was, living in Seattle Washington. A few minutes on the phone and it was a done deal! Now I just have a lot of unpacking and repacking to do!

But 1st… back to the cubical…

Let the day begin 🙂
